Gauges - Negotiations

Overview

The Negotiations gauge shows how many cases have entered Settlement status and are ready for bill negotiations. Use it to jump straight into the negotiation workflow.

Negotiations Gauge

Behavior

  • When it counts: A case appears here once its status is set to Settlement.
  • Click-through: Clicking the gauge opens the Negotiations section filtered to those settlement cases.
  • Updates: As cases complete negotiations, they drop from this count.

Negotiations workflow

  1. Assign negotiator: Select the team member responsible for negotiations on the case.
  2. Record outside meds: Enter outside medicals to include in the settlement calculus.
  3. Enter settlement amount: Provide the proposed/accepted settlement figure.
  4. Case costs incurred: Add litigation and other case costs.
  5. Attorney fee percentages: Specify fee percentages per agreement.
  6. Negotiate bills: Proceed to provider bill negotiations and track results.

Tips

  • Keep financial fields up to date before negotiating bills to see accurate net-to-client projections.
  • Use notes/history in the negotiations section to capture counteroffers and outcomes.

Troubleshooting

  • Case not showing? Ensure the case status is set to Settlement and you have access permissions.
  • Click doesn’t navigate? Refresh the dashboard or open the Negotiations area from the sidebar and apply the Settlement filter.
